Cheerio Toddler Trail Mix


Here is my latest and greatest snack for the kids. 
Yes, it has brown sugar and butter in it....soooooooo, we shall deem it semi-healthy.

>>Cheerio Toddler Trail Mix<<

3 Cups Multi-Grain Cheerios
1 Cup Old Fashioned Oats
1 Cup Dried Cranberries
1 Cup Broken Pretzel Pieces
1/4 Cup Unsweetened Coconut Flakes
1/4 Cup Ground Flax Seed

1/4 Cup Butter
1/4 Cup Coconut Oil
2 Tbsp Brown Sugar
1/2 Cup Honey
1 tsp Vanilla Extract

-Prepare a 13 x 9 pan with parchment paper on the bottom.
-In a large bowl combine Cheerios, cranberries, pretzels, and oats. Set aside.
-In a medium saucepan combine butter, coconut oil, sugar and honey. Bring to a boil.
-Reduce heat to medium low and boil for 5 minutes, stirring continuously.
-Remove from heat and add vanilla.
-Pour over Cheerio mixture and stir together until coated.
-Press mixture into pan and bake at 325 degrees F for 15-20 minutes.
-Cool completely and then remove from pan and cut into bars.
-Store in an airtight container.

Add 1/4 cup more of honey to make granola bars (more moisture to keep ingredients together).
I like it as granola so I cut back on the honey.
