The bus is two stops away and Isaiah says, I'm still hungry.
Noooooooooooooo!!
I will NOT send my child to school hungry...
He shoveled in some eggs off a plate I just set on the counter, knowing SOMEONE would eat.
And off to school he went.
----
It made me sad to think he didn't get enough to eat.
He IS a growing boy, I realize, but golly, I guess I need to change up our breakfast routine.
I racked my brain for what I could make in the mornings so he would be more filled.
I do eggs and oatmeal for the boys, but some days, they ask for cereal.
>> Note: Cereal is NOT a filler.
I then thought I needed to make muffins, and the boys could have their usual breakfast, but grab a muffin or two if they weren't quite filled. I could make more than enough and freeze some.
I found a recipe online, and tweaked it a bit to suit my needs. I was aiming for PROTEIN filled ones so they would keep the boys fuller longer.
Shakeology is my go-to protein powder--plus it has all the extra healthy goodness, so it was a double win!
Here's what I came up with--and the crushed almonds on top were Isaiah's brilliant idea.#moreprotein
Plus, I'm always a fan of a little "crunch"!!
