1/2 an hour is a big deal!

Ready to bust out some PiYo in my recovery week before I choose another program to follow in its entirety. 

It's the program where it all started for me with my weight loss/fitness/coaching journey!

Zucchini Muffins



My version of zucchini muffins:

1 2/3 C flour
1 tsp baking powder 
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp ground cinnamon 
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 C old fashioned oats
1/4 C ground flax seed (I pretty much add this to anything I bake )
1/2 C craisins
Mix dry ingredients, set aside.

1 egg
1/2 syrup (I used homemade I had left from breakfast)
3/4 C plain Greek yogurt
1/4 C melted coconut oil
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 1/2 C grated zucchini
Mix then add to dry ingredients and mix until combined.

Bake at 350 for 16-18 minutes. (This made me 24 muffins)

I want to try honey next time, instead of the syrup.
Aaaaaaand the boys ate all of them!

Total Body Chisel


"Total Body Chisel" 

The stability ball took the place of the workout bench she used. I've been looking for a program that uses more weights and I see this program as a cross between 21 Day Fix and Body Beast--and the first program where TWO trainers walk you through the 60 days!! 
This would be awesome to stream at the gym--with access to more weights and the bench.

I was able to complete Insanity by streaming it.

Workout Challenge

7 DAY FITNESS CHALLENGE:
1. NO SODA!!!!! 
2. Drink 1/2 your body weight in ounces every day!
3. Workout at least 3 times a week for 20 mins (if starting out) if not 4-5 times a week for 30 mins 
4. Hold a wall squat for 1 minute every time you go to the bathroom
5. 30 second plank in the morning before you get ready, another 30 seconds mid-day and 1 minute at night before you go to bed

I'm sitting here, and using my time the best that I can before the kiddies wake up. My business hours and before bright and early!

Before and After Energize

 Just because I wake at 5 doesn't mean it's easy. Some days I would rather be sleeping.

SO my friend, ENERGIZE helps me get focused and ready for my workout--which I can only do in the mornings, I've decided.

It's a drag to get OUT of bed but things change once I'm up and moving. 

THIS is how I rock my workout each morning! 
THIS is how I can focus on my power hour and tackle my to-do list each morning. 

If I can get these two things done before the kids wake up, then my day is GOLDEN!

Discipline


Just getting my groove on with the stability ball. 

Gotta remember to keep my back straight while I'm on this thing. 
It can be distracting at times, but tends to be more comfortable than my hard chair.




What I want MOST is going to take me 3 years to achieve. I have that goal written down. We are going to be debt free (even the house) in 3 SHORT years. 

Debt freedom will naturally create more TIME freedom for our family and that is my ultimate goal!! 

Three dedicated years are going to be worth the 40+ years of TIME to make FOND memories with the boys!!

It's called ENERGIZE for a reason!! 
It's the game changer in my morning routine!!

I seriously look forward to this every morning because I know that no matter how tired I am crawling out of bed at 5am, after I have my energize, I am MORE ALERT and FOCUSED as I'm working. Plus I can ROCK my workouts because I get my energy back. 

Need to FOCUS?
Need ENERGY? 

Me too. 

Maybe it's my mom status, but those are two things I think anyone can benefit from, especially if they rise before the sun!

What's Your Why?



Why?

Why get up at 5:30 (cuz you hit snooze 3 times from the initial 5am alarm ) when the baby kept you up til 1:30?? 

Who does that? 
Me.

I do it because my WHY is bigger than my excuses. And I'm not saying that to boast. I'm also not saying I'm perfect at it. BUT I what I AM saying is I know where I'm going with my life and business and sleeping in wont get me there. 

Sleeping in keeps the debt. 
Sleeping in keeps the extra inch on my waist. 
Sleeping in gets me behind on my goals. 

Sleeping in...is NOT an option right now....2 and 3 years down the road, yes, but not right now. 

Plus, I can grab a power nap when the baby naps. I know the day ahead and know I can close my eyes for 15 minutes and catch the break I need. 

What's YOUR why??

Stuffed Bell Peppers

Who else has had stuffed bell peppers?? This is a first for me.

I was the only one who ate them. MORE for ME!

In retrospect...
Did I make two dinners?
Yes.
Does this happen often?
You bet your bottom it DOESN'T!!!! Mwahaha!

Ground beef prepared was split, some for my peppers and some for the boys' spaghetti. Slight amount of extra preparation, but nothing big.
.
Do what ya gotta do, I guess.
I love trying new things and I've come to terms with the fact that the boys (and my husband) don't always like what I make...especially NEW things. So, I sacrifice some nights and put in a little extra prep time. But I try to combine as much as possible.

Cuz this mom ain't got time for that!

Less Financial Stress

You know that time when your husband comes home from getting the car serviced and he tells you all the things that need to be fixed on the car...

And your first question is "How much is that going to cost?"
.
Yep, that was me last week. 

I used to fret over the costs...knowing they were essential to helping the car last and essential to avoiding further, more expensive fixes down the road.

But I didn't this time.

Fretting isn't an issue when you actually have the funds to cover such expenses.

That's what coaching a has allowed for our family--> LESS Financial STRESS!!

I'm so glad I took a chance and stepped out of my comfort zone doing something that I've become so passionate about...something that brings time and financial freedom where there once wasn't.

Trust the System

Totally slept in. 

Actually I did it on purpose. I didn't even set my alarm. My boys woke me up and so they were my alarm. 

Feels good not to get up at 5...but now it's time to work!! and workout. 

P90x3 Agility today! Not my favorite workout in the program BUT I'm still going to push hard.

You ever have those? Particular workouts in a program that just aren't your fav but you still do 'em cuz you know it's a system you can trust??

Homemade Honey Mustard Dressing

It's homemade honey mustard dressing.


 
I add it to a lot of things I used to add ranch to. I like thing "moist". So this is a great healthy substitute.

My first time with a homemade dressing. I think.
.
If you're into this kind of dressing, I highly recommend making your own!! 
------
1/2 cup plain Greek yogurt
3 TBSP Dijon Mustard 
3 TBSP raw honey
3 TBSP rice vinegar
1/4 cup EVOO
Sea salt to taste
.
Combine first 4 ingredients in a medium bowl and mix well. 
Slowly add oil, whisking constantly until well blended. 
Serving size: 2 TBSP (102 cal.)

I was on a webcast with the one and only Darren Hardy (Publisher of SUCCESS Magazine)!

People pay big bucks to learn from that man and I earned an hour long training from him...all because I was able to help 3 people last month.

Talk about MOTIVATING!!


 

He has definitely lit a FIRE and I loved how he reminded me that EVERYONE has the potential for GREATNESS!! 

I CAN do hard things and I CAN be successful with my goals and dreams.

It's All About WATER


It's all about WATER! 

A good rule of thumb is to drink 1/2 your body weight in ounces of water each day. (140 pound person=70 oz/day)

Since I wake up earlier than most of the world, I'm able to get a head start--IF I was on top of things.

I realized today that it wasn't until 8:30 that I had my first glass of water. 😁

The only liquid I had was my pre-workout drink.

Not cool.

I had to play catch up all day.

It's water or milk in this house.
The boys have gotten used to the fact I stopped buying juice.

However, you know that when something other than milk or water enters the house #iwontnamenames
They are like a cat on a mouse...like white on rice and ALL over that.

At least they are getting water 60-70% of the time. And that, my friends, is a WIN in my book.

That time you actually cleaned your room and got the blasted boxes out of the way so you have SPACE to MOVE during your workouts.

P90X3 CVX is about to go down!! 

My favorite workout in the program--which I think I've said about 10 times already... but it's TRUE!! 

30 minutes and works EVERYTHING!!

Exercise is my stress relieving, mood boosting, serotonin increasing, feel-good way to start my day RIGHT!

Altering


This is a story about a girl... ...A girl that can't seem to part with clothes unless there is no way, no how, that she can't tweak them a little to fit.#alterlikeaboss
That's where my sewing machine has come in SO handy lately!! Jeans are one thing...there's almost no hope for those bad boys....but with shirts or skirts...there's almost always a way to alter them. 
😉
Last August I got this cute outfit for my nephew's wedding. 
Since that event, the two items of clothing became loose, BUT I couldn't part with them. And, frankly, I didn't want to go buy new clothes.

Soooooo, I did what I had to do and "took them in". Yep, you wouldn't know that I have about two inches gathered in the back of this skirt and the same on the inside of the shirt.
Now, time to go "closet shopping" and see what else I can alter.

Eat BEFORE Going Out

One of the biggest mistakes people make is to ‘save up’ for a large meal....or ANY large meal, for that matter.

Note to self: this strategy inevitably backfires. 

Why? 

You end up over-compensating for the calories you didn’t consume earlier in the day. #makessense

A better plan >> eat normally, then have a small meal before you meet up with everyone.

Make that meal one packed with fiber and protein to help curb your hunger.

Try avocado toast with tomatoes. smile emoticon
