Confessions of a Scary Mom

And sometimes, after I've read personal development, I take a few minutes to read THIS! 😂😂

I only need to read a few pages and then I'm reminded how the little things that seem to make life CRAZY, can actually be something to laugh at.

"In all of living, have much fun and laughter. Life is to be enjoyed, not just endured."
~Gordon B. Hinckley

Now, a few quotes from the book:

🔹 -My husband thinks I need to be more patient with the kids...this coming from a man who hasn't spent more than two consecutive hours with them EVER.

🔹 -I tell my husband we are out of milk so I can run to the store for 10 minutes of quiet time. I don't tell him I drank the last of the milk.

🔹-I put my kids to bed in their clothes so I don't need to get them dressed the next day.

🔹-TV taught my daughter to read and I took the credit. Thanks PBS Kids!

🔹-I take the long way home to enjoy the relaxation of everyone safely buckled in their car seat and not trying to crawl up on me.

Almond Crusted Chicken

Almond crusted chicken for the WIN!!
I love almonds and I love the Winco price on raw almonds even more.

Put a cup into your food processor to create almond meal, lightly spray your chicken with some cooking spray of your choice, roll chicken in almond meal and bake at 420 for 20 minutes.

Easy peezy lemon squeezy!!

Use for chicken wraps, chicken over rice, or even chicken parmesan!

My original mayo chicken advanced to >> plain Greek yogurt chicken to >> almond crusted chicken!

Time is a Gift

Time is a gift.
It is a gift from God.
We can't demand more, and we can't insist on less.
We can't buy more, and we can't sell any (otherwise, it wouldn't really be a gift.)
Everyone receives the same amount of time every day.

And sometimes we want to do everything fast. We hunt for fast food, shortcuts, express elevators, and instant meals.

But there's much in life that isn't instant and isn't fast.
😳

Developing skills and relationships and character traits--there a lot of things take time. For the most part, the things in our life that matter the most will have to be attended to. We will have to budget some time--make and take some time--for them. It is a process, sometimes a lifelong process.

Taking care of your physical self is one of those things that Just. Takes. Time. #itsworthit

So be intentional about your health...be consistent...and know that it will take TIME!!

It's Called a Mastermind

It's called a mastermind.
#wheregreatmindscometogether

A fancy term for a discussion we have on best practices in coaching.

Basically, it's training.

I meet together with other coaches once a week--through a video conference--to talk about different aspects of the business and LEARN from them. I also share what works for me. #successleavesclues
.
In order to succeed in anything you want to train, and LEARN and KEEP learning...always improving.

There's no one right way to coach, but there ARE things you need to be doing every day and things you can learn from others.
.
I didn't know what I was doing when I first started coaching. BUT I had access to ALL the resources I needed to get started. And now, that's what Ive now been able to share with NEW coaches that join my team...
Everything needed to start your own business and be a successful coach!
.
You don't need to know everything before you start, you just have to START!

Life Is Tough, But So Are You

Whatever it is that you want to change in your life, it’s not going to be easy.

Don’t expect change to happen immediately.

Don’t expect instant results all the time.

Change isn’t immediate. #truth

It takes a lot of work to change a habit that has been so ingrained.

It takes a lot of work to start an exercise routine.

It takes a lot of work to improve your nutrition.🍅

So, how do you stay MOTIVATED to keep going with these new habits?
.
I stay motivated by setting SMALL, short term goals.
Like with no sugar, I've been going day by day. It's a constant battle to watch what I eat, since I'm so used to grabbing what's fast and simple and not necessarily healthy. 😁
With my workouts it's a little different. I go week by week and evaluate on Saturdays how far I've come and what I can improve the following week.
.
You can't see changes after one day and sometimes not even after a week, but the key is to stay consistent and dedicated so that the changes have TIME to happen!

Find what motivates YOU and allow the change to happen.

Homemade Reese's Peanut Butter Cups

Yesterday's masterpiece...
Chocolate + peanut butter.

Um, yes please!

Homemade Reese's peanut butter cups?

Yep.

Except a healthy version.
Which means...no sugar!
#oxymoroncentral #superfoodversionandslightlyaddicting

Only 3 ingredients: chocolate protein powder (I used Shakeology #shocker), coconut oil, and natural peanut butter.

Melt 12 tbsp of oil, mix with 4 Tbsp of cocoa powder, then pour thin layer into cupcake liner, freeze 10 minutes, thin layer of peanut butter, freeze 10 minutes, then pour second layer of chocolate (covering peanut butter) and freeze 10 more minutes. Voila!

Silent Cheer

**SILENT CHEER**

ALL 3 boys are napping #thisneverhappens and that means I can work a little longer today so I don't have to work as much tomorrow!! #girlboss

I love setting my own hours and being able to pull back on the weekends--leaving TIME to be more present and even have some "me" time. #dreamsdontworkunlessyoudo

Toddler Roll

Even if you don’t have kids, you’re bound to run into them at some point.
Watch how they move, and copy them. Why?
All of that crawling, rolling, rocking, and deep squatting can dramatically boost your mobility, which is the key to unlocking greater strength, according to strength and conditioning coach Steve Maxwell.

No toddler around?

Do the following “toddler roll” exercise to instantly open up your chest and shoulders, and release tension throughout your body.

Toddler Roll: Lie on your stomach with your legs straight and your arms extended above your head. Look over your right shoulder, reach back across the midline of your body with your right arm, and roll onto your back (don’t push off with your legs). Continue looking in the same direction as you reach across your body with your left arm and use your core to roll onto your stomach. Roll back to where you started, and repeat in the other direction. Continue rolling from side to side for 3 minutes.

No Bad Workouts

You will NEVER regret working out!

Take it day by day.. Set a new goal each morning that you will workout that day. And then while you are working out, set a goal to do one more rep, or push for 1 more second. You will continue to IMPRESS yourself and it will feel GREAT to continue to reach goals.

REMEMBER: the only bad workout is the one that didn't happen!

Coaching is Rewarding

I remember that time I was nervous about coaching--worried it wasn't a real thing...and worried I didn't have what it took to be successful. #itsallrelative

I walked into coaching, wanting to do something from home and be able to work whenever and wherever I wanted.

I didn't realize I would meet so many amazing friends and be able to travel to amazing places in reward for just HELPING people!
😃
